Wednesdays until 18 October

Throughout the summer 2026 timetable there are fewer afternoon sailings every Wednesday. This allows us to carry out pre-emptive maintenance and care to the vessel, carrying out the tasks that cannot be done when in service.

Please plan ahead before you travel.

Monday 10 & Wednesday 12 August

To accommodate customers travelling to/from the Bute Agricultural Show, amended timetables operate on Monday 10 August and Wednesday 12 August.

Due to berthing constraints & planned vessel maintenance requirements, amended timetables operate on Monday 20 July and Wednesday 22 July.

MV Bute Passenger Lift

Please be advised that the passenger lift from the car deck onboard MV Bute is currently out of service.

Foot Passengers: Lift access to the passenger deck is available via the passenger access system.

Vehicle customers requiring assistance: If you would like to travel on a MV Bute sailing and are a vehicle customer requiring assistance, please contact port of departure the day before your journey.

Alternatively, customers can travel on MV Argyle sailings.

CalMac Status app

Our CalMac status app is available to download from your usual Google and Apple app stores. Once downloaded, you can sign up to receive push notifications on your favourite routes. You can also view the timetable files for the route and date you have selected. Please note, the results returned will not be a ‘live’ picture of services at that time – instead, they are an enhanced, easy to read excerpt of the timetable. Please continue to check service status for the most up to date information.

Turn Up and Go and Bookable route online purchases. If you have purchased tickets online as a group or for any number of travel companions, for use on any of our Turn Up and Go or Bookable routes, the full party must travel on the same sailing. This applies to both legs of your journey. If you are unsure if all members of your group are travelling together, please complete separate transactions online.

Connecting Services - For customers using connecting services please note these services do not always guarantee a connection, particularly during times of disruption. We advise that you check both CalMac and connecting service websites prior to travel to ensure you can reach your end destination safely.

Subscriber texts

To subscribe to live updates for a particular route text the words CALMAC and SUBSCRIBE along with the route code of your choice to 60030 e.g. "CALMAC SUBSCRIBE 03". This will automatically subscribe you to ongoing service information relating to that route for a six month period.
