Brodick Highland Games – Saturday 8 August

If you are planning to travel with us to the Brodick Highland Games, sailings on Ardrossan – Brodick and Troon-Brodick are expected to be busier than normal between Friday 7 – Sunday 9 August.

We advise booking your tickets in advance where possible to guarantee travel on your preferred sailing. The 09:45 sailing departing Ardrossan on Saturday 9 August has very limited foot passenger capacity.

In addition to the crossing between Troon-Brodick, we also operate an alternative Turn Up and Go ferry service between Claonaig on the east coast of the Kintyre peninsula and Lochranza in the north of Arran. We do expect this route to be busier than usual.

Wait times may be extended and space on your preferred sailing is not guaranteed.

MV Alfred is operating services to/from Troon

MV Alfred will continue to operate the Troon – Brodick service until Sunday 18 October with an amended timetable.

There is no hot meals service on onboard MV Alfred. However, there is a cold drinks/snacks vending machine located in the passenger lounge that accepts both cash and card.

Refreshments including hot drinks and snacks are available from Troon port. Cash and card payments are accepted.

MV Caledonian Isles operates the published summer timetable on Ardrossan-Brodick.

Please be advised that MV Alfred is currently operating with reduced thrusters due to a technical issue.

During periods of adverse weather, operations will be reduced.

MV Alfred Vehicle Customers

MV Alfred can accommodate all types of vehicles, with the exception of motorhomes over 6 metres or any vehicle towing a caravan. If you are travelling in a motorhome of any size, please make your booking via our Customer Engagement Centre or port of departure. Any customers with a motorhome over 6 meters must travel on Ardrossan-Brodick or via our Claonaig-Lochranza service.

Roadworks - Monday 20 July to Friday 28 August

North Ayrshire Council will be undertaking a programme of road works on Arran, with various road closures throughout this period.

Turn Up and Go and Bookable route online purchases. If you have purchased tickets online as a group or for any number of travel companions, for use on any of our Turn Up and Go or Bookable routes, the full party must travel on the same sailing. This applies to both legs of your journey. If you are unsure if all members of your group are travelling together, please complete separate transactions online.

Subscriber texts

To subscribe to live updates for a particular route text the words CALMAC and SUBSCRIBE along with the route code of your choice to 60030 e.g. "CALMAC SUBSCRIBE 41". This will automatically subscribe you to ongoing service information relating to that route for a six month period.
