Passenger Notice - Vehicle Drivers

Customers are requested that during hours of darkness, vehicle lights be switched off whilst waiting at the slip.

Travelling to Gigha with a Motorhome/Campervan

If you are travelling in a motorhome or campervan and plan to stay overnight, please ensure that you have arranged a booking at the Gigha campsite or have a private arrangement before travelling as there are no other parking or facilities available. Motorhomes over 7m cannot be accommodated at the Gigha campsite.

Caravans are not permitted on Gigha and there are no caravan sites on the island.

Visit Gigha has published helpful information for visitors including walking and cycle routes, accommodation, wild camping and public toilets.

Vehicle Weight Limit

All commercial vehicles travelling on this route are required to provide a weighbridge ticket on arrival to the port. For further information, please contact Kennacraig port on 01880280281 (opt 2).

Turn Up and Go and Bookable route online purchases. If you have purchased tickets online as a group or for any number of travel companions, for use on any of our Turn Up and Go or Bookable routes, the full party must travel on the same sailing. This applies to both legs of your journey. If you are unsure if all members of your group are travelling together, please complete separate transactions online.

We advise that you check both CalMac and connecting service websites prior to travel to ensure you can reach your end destination safely.

Subscriber texts

To subscribe to live updates for a particular route text the words CALMAC and SUBSCRIBE along with the route code of your choice to 60030 e.g. "CALMAC SUBSCRIBE 08". This will automatically subscribe you to ongoing service information relating to that route for a six month period.
