Overnight Road Closure A82 between Firkin Point and Inverarnan

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out overnight carriageway maintenance works on the A82 between Firkin Point and Inverarnan from 17 September to 4 November 2026. Works will take place between 19:00 and 06:00, with no works planned on Friday or Saturday nights.

During parts of the programme, overnight road closures and diversion routes will be in place between Tarbet and Crianlarich.

Customers travelling to and from our services are advised to allow additional time for their journey during the works period.

Passenger Notice - Vehicle Drivers

Customers are requested that during hours of darkness, vehicle lights be switched off whilst waiting at the slip.

Travelling to Gigha with a Motorhome/Campervan

If you are travelling in a motorhome or campervan and plan to stay overnight, please ensure that you have arranged a booking at the Gigha campsite or have a private arrangement before travelling as there are no other parking or facilities available. Motorhomes over 7m cannot be accommodated at the Gigha campsite.

Caravans are not permitted on Gigha and there are no caravan sites on the island.

Vehicle Weight Limit

All commercial vehicles travelling on this route are required to provide a weighbridge ticket on arrival to the port. For further information, please contact Kennacraig port on 01880280281 (opt 2).
